24 Sussex Drive is the official residence of Canada's Prime Minister. Built in 1866 by Joseph Merrill Currier, a Member of Parliament, it was orginally named Gorffwysfa - a Welsh word for place of peace. It has housed every Prime Minister since the government purchased it in 1943. While the building is not open for visitors, it is worth having a peak through the dense trees. Stornoway Located in Ottawa's very upscale Rockcliffe Park neighbourhood, Stornoway is the official residence of the Leader of the Opposition party. Billings Estate Museum Built in 1827, this Georgian estate was once home to one of the region's founding families: Braddish and Lamira Billings.
